Tony Abbott is the proud winner of 'Entrepreneur of the Year Award' for the Halifax Courier Business Awards 2011

Reactiv Media enjoyed a good night at the Halifax Courier Business Awards 2011, getting nominations for both 'Business of the Year' and 'Entrepreneur of the Year' with almost 400 people from the region’s brightest businesses all gathered at The Venue, Barkisland.

Founder and Managing Director, Tony Abbott walked away from the night with 'Entrepreneur of the Year' accepting the prestigious award on behalf of the whole Reactiv Group. Judges found Reactiv Media to be a business with an eye for a gap in the market. They said Tony was an inspiration to his staff, customer and suppliers. They were impressed with his firm that they described as an innovative, fast moving company with a very low cost base which has big plans for the future.

“Going into the night with two nominations is a great honour and a real testament to the hard work going on at the Reactiv Group. The Business Award would have been amazing but when you compare to who we were up against, it was always going to be tough. Our fellow nominees had over 150 years experience between them, compare that to Reactiv’s 5 and you get a sense of what an honour the nomination was.” Said Tony.

Reactiv Media’s 20+ guests were some of the most supportive of the night, cheering with every mention of the company they work for. The night itself was a huge success, moving to The Venue in Bowers Mill and presented by Claire Frisby from BBC's Look North.

Other shortlisted entrepreneurs were Roger Masterson, Celtic Castles Ltd and Jaime O'Connor, from The Over Door Shield Company Ltd. Well done to everyone.
